Our instructors:

Mary Lou Heinle started sewing when she was 8 or 9. Her mother worked at a bridal shop and she was fascinated with sewing and machines. In 1995, she went  with a friend to a quilt show. She decided to sign up for some classes and she was hooked. She joined a group that met twice a month and after a year started teaching classes. She now has her own quilting business, Swirly Girl Quilts. She joined the Tokay Stitch and Quilt Guild in 1999.

Barbara Burruel has been a quilter since 1990.  Previous to this, she made and designed wedding dresses as therapy to a stressful job.  When she retired in 1988 and moved to the Pacific Northwest, she got the quilting bug.  Luckily there was a quilt shop in her new town which had get togethers twice a month and also joined the local quilt guild that met every week. Lots of opportunities came from classes with Maurine Nobel, Marilyn Doheny, Jane Sasserman and Melody Johnson to name a few.  She started teaching to her guild in Washington and various stores.  Returning back to Stockton in 1991 she became a member of Tuleburg Quilt Guild and is past president of the guild.  Teaching to her guild and privately brings so much satisfaction to herself and guild members.  It's always such a joy to bring out others creativity.
